Received a Desert Orthopaedic Center data breach notice?
FirstClassAction is reviewing potential claims on behalf of individuals whose personal information may have been compromised in a reported data security incident involving Desert Orthopaedic Center.
Desert Orthopaedic Center (“DOC”) disclosed that personal and medical information may have been accessed or copied without authorization.¹ If your information was involved, you may be entitled to compensation depending on your circumstances and the findings of an investigation.
What Happened?
DOC says it learned of a potential incident around August 7, 2026, and engaged outside specialists to investigate.
Its October 6, 2026 public notice states that individual letters will be mailed after its ongoing review to potentially affected people with available addresses. The nationwide total has not been disclosed.²
What Data Was Exposed?
Potentially involved information varies by individual and may include:
Names and contact details.
Birth dates.
Social Security numbers.
Treatment and diagnosis details.
Prescription and medication details.
Service dates.
Provider names and locations.
Medical record and patient account numbers.
Medicare and Medicaid identifiers.
Health insurance details.
Medical billing and claims details.³
Exposure of identifying and medical information may increase the risk of identity theft, medical identity theft, and financial fraud. DOC says it has no reason to believe information has been or will be misused and is offering complimentary credit monitoring and identity protection.⁴
Who Is Affected?
If you receive a notice from DOC, its contents should help you understand whether your information may be involved. Receiving care from a provider does not, by itself, establish that your records were compromised.
Review any notification letter you receive, monitor your accounts, and take steps to protect yourself.
